Winemaking originated on the territory of modern Portugal even before our era. It is very significant that it was then, several millennia ago, that the Phoenicians were able to develop varieties that are ideally adapted to the local climate. And these varieties are still cultivated and processed into magnificent wines of Portugal, which are known and loved in many countries of the world.
